New functionality in Fusion

DXF Export Enhanced: Streamlining Manufacturing Workflows

Center Line and Extent Line Control

You can now toggle center lines and extent lines on or off during export. Why is this important? For processes like laser cutting or CNC machining, it's huge. You only need the outside profile. Now, it is super easy to get exactly what you need.

Customizable Units for DXF Output

Fusion also now lets you specify units for your DXF export. This ensures better compatibility with various manufacturing tools.

Mass Properties Units: Finally, Intuitive Weight Calculations

It's frustrating to see mass always in ounce mass. It wasn't very useful. This update finally delivers a solution.

Changing Document Units

You can now change the mass unit. Do it right within the document settings. Here’s how: Go to document settings, then change active units. Now you see a custom option. It lets you pick your preferred mass unit like pounds or kilograms.

Setting Default Units in Preferences

Want all new designs to use your preferred units? You can set the defaults in preferences. Go to default units, then design. Pick custom. Specify your length and mass units. That way every new project starts just right.

Configurations Revolutionized: Dynamic Design Made Easier

This update makes configurations simple. You can integrate configuration directly into feature creation. This makes dynamic design easier.

Adding Configurations On-the-Fly

The "Configure" tab is available in many of Fusion's commands such as Extrude, Shell, or Chamfer. This lets you add parameters to the configuration table as you are designing. You don't need to add it later.

Surfacing Command Integration

This enhancement stretches into surfacing commands too, such as Offset Surface.

Imagine you're designing a part. It needs different thicknesses or edge details. On-the-fly configuration is perfect for this. It allows you to make those adjustments with ease.

Conclusion

This Fusion update packs a punch. It streamlines DXF exports and simplifies mass property units. Plus, it revolutionizes configurations. These improvements boost your workflow and user experience. For a full rundown, check out the "What's New" document in Fusion .
